Open since 2002, it's the first to open its door. Traditional pão-de-ló sponge, the Croissants do Manel, and a surprise under the counter glass.

Depends on the time — and what you fancy

🕐 Whoever opens first

Early flight, or a shift that starts at seven? Tropicália already has coffee and warm bread by 7am — one of the first places in town to open its door.

📅 Whoever never closes

São Marcos opens every day of the year, Sundays and holidays included — closed only on 25 December and 1 January. In a town where almost everything shuts on Sunday, that counts.

🎁 Each house's surprise

At São Marcos it's the house pizza. At Tropicália it's the Croissants do Manel — and the seabed under the display case glass.

🐚 Walking the Camino de Santiago? Pastelaria São Marcos has the Camino stamps and sits 64 metres from the Portuguese Coastal Way, at km 13 from Porto Cathedral. Since it opens every day of the year, it's the most reliable stamping point in town.
📍 Not to be confused with Tropicalia Confeitaria in Castelo da Maia. There is another house with a similar name in the same council, on Rua da Igreja, in Santa Maria de Avioso. The Tropicália on this page is the one on Rua das Guardeiras, 148, here in Pedras Rubras.
